This beautiful photograph of the ancient ruins of the Royal Abbey of Cong near Galway, Ireland was taken in 2016 by professional photographer Katrin Faridani. Katrin graduated from the Photography program at Ryerson in '97. She "sees the unusual as wonderful," an approach that is reflected in this glossy photo. Measures 8" x 12" and matted to 11" x 14". Frame not included. The Abbey at Cong was built on the site of an earlier 7th century monastery and was burned several times in the early 12th century. Known as the Royal Augustian Abbey of Cong, it is where the last High King of Ireland is believed to have died in 1198.
